I love reading, writing, and design. When I'm not working, I love to spend time with my family, travel, and do various home improvement projects. But lately, I haven't had a whole lot of time outside of work because it's all been spent building a dream home. You read it right: Our dream home.
On August 31, 2015, we bought a house. We rented it to skiers for the season so we could take our time planning an extensive renovation. When the skiers moved out, we moved in. We spent a very enjoyable summer living in the house, swimming in the large indoor pool, and chasing weeds off the lawn. Then, the demolitions crew showed up.
Our original goal was to move into the house in June of 2016, but that dream faded and now we're hoping for an April/May 2018 move in. Most of my time outside of work is spent dealing with this project - making design decisions, communicating with contractors and subcontractors, and visiting the site. I will be posting to this blog with periodic updates as different stages of the project get completed.
